Frequently Asked Questions

When should I order invitations for my event?
Typically, you should order your invitations somewhere between 4-6 months before your event.

How long will it take to get my invitations once I order them?
You should allow approximately 4 weeks from the date you send your deposit.

How do I order?
To begin the process of having your custom invitations made, please complete and email a Wedding Information Sheet to me. If you are planning an event other than a wedding, please complete and email the Event Information Sheet.

Once I receive your information sheet, I will contact you to set up a meeting either over the phone or in person. During this meeting we will flesh out some preliminary ideas for your invitation type and style.

I will then send a contract and estimate to you along with samples of the final design of your invitation. At this point, you can request a revision if needed. If a revision is not needed, your approval will require a 50% deposit along with a signed contract to begin work on the final order. When the order is completed, the other 50% of the estimate will be due.

How many should I order?
To be safe, you'll want to order 10% more than the number on your guest list. Remember, you'll want to save one or two for picture albums and scrapbooks. In addition, there always seem to be a few last minute people that will be invited that you didn't count initially. Plus, it will be more costly and time consuming to re-order.

How much will it cost?
Prices range and vary depending on the intricacy of the design. We can work with your budget, but typically Carissa's invitations cost in the range of $3-$8 per invitation.

The samples depicted in this site are suggestions. There is always the option to have a custom design made. The prices on a custom design will be discussed after the samples are made for you.

When do I pay?
The first deposit is 50% of your estimate and is due upon final approval of the sample and with the arrival of your signed contract. The final 50% is due upon completion of the order.

Will you address my invitations for me?
Sure thing! I'll even take them to the post office for you! I'll need your address list and it will cost extra depending on if labels are printed or if handwriting is preferred. The postage will be added to the final amount due.

When should I send the invitations to my guests?
Usually, you'll want to send the invitations out 8 weeks before your wedding. If your event is something other than a wedding (a shower, birthday party, etc.) you'll want to send your invites out approximately 6 weeks before the event date. Remember - you should try to order your invitations as early as 4-6 months before your wedding.

How should I word my invitations?
There are limitless ways to word your invitations. You can be very formal or very informal and casual. You'll want to think about the type of event you're having. I will consult with you about the most appropriate way to word your invite after I receive your Wedding or Event Information Sheet.
